Following graduation, she worked at Timaru Hospital before moving to Melbourne to work as an Occupational Therapist. Career highlights include working as a Senior OT at the National Burns Centre, Middlemore Hospital Auckland and now holds a special interest in scar management.\u00a0<\/p>\n With over 10 years\u2019 experience in vocational rehabilitation, ergonomic workstation setups and pain management.\u00a0 Teri completed her post graduate study in hand and upper limb rehabilitation in 2013 and became a fully registered Hand Therapist in 2016. She enjoys learning and has even accompanied surgeons into theatre to observe patients\u2019 hand surgeries. Offering patients a complete hand therapy service including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, she has managed a wide variety of crush injuries, amputations, tendon\/ligament repairs, burns, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains.<\/p>\n Teri provides wound, oedema, scar management, desensitisation, customised splinting, casting, braces, sports strapping, heat treatment, cupping, massage and specific exercises for range of motion, strengthening and function.<\/p>\n She is a mother and wife and enjoys gardening, boating, fishing, rearing chickens and community projects. She then began traveling and worked in a variety different settings in Christchurch, London, Auckland, California, Sydney. Raising a family of three daughters and\u00a0subsequently\u00a0returned to university, to specialised in hand and upper limb therapy. Melissa become a registered hand therapist in 2011 and completed Masters in Rehabilitation in 2015.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Melissa has previously been based in Auckland private hand therapy clinic. Seeking a change Melissa is now living on the beautiful Coromandel\u202fPeninsular, spending her time enjoying swimming,\u00a0cycling\u00a0and tramping.
