At Coastal Hand Therapy, I provide a specialist Hand Therapy Service, consisting of assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of all injuries to the upper limb, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand and fingers.

Lauren Bromley
Born and raised in Thames, the Coromandel Peninsula is my home. After leaving the area for study and career advancement, I have returned and are very fortunate to now call Whitianga home.
After graduating in 2017, I followed my chosen career path specialising in Hand Therapy. I completed a postgraduate certificate in rehabilitation specific to hand and upper limb and pain management. Since 2017 I have gained clinical experience working at the Christchurch Public Hospital and private Hand Therapy Clinic’s in Hamilton and Cambridge.
I work in partnership with Physio First Whitianga to provide ACC services – Check out Physio First Whitianga Website.

Teri Mitchell
Originally from Napier Hawke’s Bay. Between ages 19-30 she lived abroad, travelled, worked and studied before returning home to qualify as an Occupational Therapist in 2000. Career highlights include working as a Senior OT at the National Burns Centre, Middlemore Hospital Auckland and now holds a special interest in scar management.
With over 10 years’ experience in vocational rehabilitation, ergonomic workstation setups and pain management. Teri completed her post graduate study in hand and upper limb rehabilitation in 2013 and became a fully registered Hand Therapist in 2016. She enjoys learning and has even accompanied surgeons into theatre to observe patients’ hand surgeries. Offering patients a complete hand therapy service including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, she has managed a wide variety of crush injuries, amputations, tendon/ligament repairs, burns, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains.
Teri provides wound, oedema, scar management, desensitisation, customised splinting, casting, braces, sports strapping, heat treatment, cupping, massage and specific exercises for range of motion, strengthening and function.
She is a mother and wife and enjoys gardening, boating, fishing, rearing chickens and community projects. Teri is currently working two days per week for Coastal Hand Therapy in our Thames clinic.

At Coastal Hand Therapy I take pride in offering clients the latest technologies to help achieve therapeutic outcomes.
During all Covid-19 traffic light levels, I offer alternative treatments using our user-friendly video and phone appointments. There are several telehealth platforms which enable treatment to be as valuable as if you were in the clinic.
